HEART OF AMERICA TALENT CONTEST
BE A STAR in the Heart of America's Number One Talent Contest for kids from toddlers to college age, being held in the Kansas City area. Contestants will be coming from Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Iowa and beyond. This Contest is set up for kids of all levels of ability, from Beginner to Intermediate to Exceptional. All Talent Contests typically consist of 5 Semi Finals, culminating in the Finals. The schedule will be as follows: Biweekly Semi Finals are held every other Sunday afternoon at 2:00 PM (see schedule on the Sign Up page). Sign up now to compete in the next series of Contest that culminate in the Finals competition on Sunday, May 23rd, 2010 at 2:00PM. All Prizes are given out on the afternoon of the Finals.
Contestants will choose to perform in one of 3 categories in this competition, i.e., "12 & Under Division", "13 thru College Division", or the "Open Division". 1st and 2nd place winners from the "12 & Under Division" and the "13 thru College Division" from each of the 6 Semi Final nights will go on to compete in the Finals. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners from each of the 6 Semi Finals nights in the "Open Division" will go on to compete in the Finals.

Admission to each Semi Final contest, as well as the Finals is $10.00. Contestants who are performing that night and kids 5 are FREE. Tickets can be purchased for the entire series of contests including the Finals at discounted rate. Click on "Contest Rules" and scroll down to "Admission" section for more information on Ticket Packages. Doors will open 1/2 hour before the Contests begin.
The HEART OF AMERICA TALENT SHOWCASE & CONTEST is a production founded by Nashville Country Music Artist, Steven Paul McCollum that will showcase the talented kids in Kansas City and the surrounding areas. This Idea of giving kids an outlet where they can develop their talent to the fullest was originated in Nashville, Tennessee in 2003/2004, when Steven Paul McCollum teamed up with long time friend & fellow band member Kent Wells (Nashville Producer/Musician) in the "Nashville Country Show and Talent Contest".
Kids: If you only want to showcase your talent on the big stage and don't feel like you are ready to compete in the Talent Contest we still have "Heart of America Talent Showcases" you can perform in periodically. These showcases are open to all kids whatever your talent is. Performers in the Talent Showcase are Solo Singers, Small Singing Groups, Instrumentalists, Dancers, Gymnasts, Actors, Comedians, Magicians, etc. You can do a song or a skit, or simply come up & read a poem you've written.
